Slight rain with some Clear Skies

I took this photography myself whilst on a car journey back from Heathrow airport. I thought it was very beautiful how the sky showed different colour layers. I then added the water droplets on the window as a foreground layer and used the sky as the background colour.A picture painting!

French Connection Advert for their new Autumn/Winter Collection

When I first saw this advert it made me think of a horror movie due to the dark, eerie settings, quick image changes and no real idea what is going on. It reminds me of the video tape in 'The Ring' http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0298130/. I find it very odd and confusing as the images are very random and does not make it clear what this advert is actally about. However, on the other hand I find it quirky and unique, and it certainly stays in your memory. When I watch adverts I always try and make out what their product is before they say at the end to see if their advert actually works, and I was not able to with this advert BUT it is one of those few that are still remembered because they are very weird...Also similar to Cadbury adverts - Gorilla playing the drums...Really?!?! But it is effective and very popular! They are the adverts that are mostly remembered.

Some of my Grandmother's hidden treasures

An Oscar Baeckman from 1964 - I find it similar to the Chanel style and is similar to this piece Ive added below from Spring 2011.

A 1970s Karlinda dress and coat set from London which my mum wore when she was younger.

A classic Jaeger coat which my Grandmother wore in 1966. It was fascinating to see how the logo has changed from looking at the label.

These clutch bags are from the 1920s which belonged to my great-Grandmother which she matched to her outfits to go to the Opera's. The black clutch is made of suede fabric with mini golden metallic strips to hold the flap down and it has its own mini coin purse. The blue one is made of silk and is hand made by my great-Grandmother - she was a very skilled seamstress.

New Chanel Advertising Campaign Autumn/Winter 20011

I love the Chanel adverts because they are cheeky and fun. This one differs from the norm as it has darker colours and a closed setting, but the cheeky nature is still portrayed through the animalistic character.

Fashion East: Founded by Lulu Kennedy in 2000, launched Second collection...

I came across an interesting article in the Metro about a growing British brand. What interested me the most was the fact that this woman Lulu Kennedy is encouraging new talent and trying to help more designers become a part of a brand.

Lulu Kennedy launched this brand in 2000 to enable unknown designers to become noticed, and has thus launched careers for many talented designers. Last year, the first collection was launched and was a sellout, now the brand has come out with its second collection hoping for the same success.

"Its a roll call of creativity to make you catch your breath, cementing Kennedy's position as fashion's fairy godmother." (Metro 11.08.2011 p22)

"The first one was an iconic archive dress per designer and focused solely on Fashion East. This collection has opened up to new items such as knitwearm T-shirts and scarves, and we're commissioned 'friends and family'alongside Fashion East designers." (Lulu Kennedy, Metro 11.08.2011 p22)

'Absolut Vodka' Advert - Very Clever!!

[Age Restrictions Apply - 18+]

I think this advert is an insight into the new way products will be advertised. This advert involves (from what it seems) general public and artists who design their own version of the bottle in many different methods which is brilliant as it shows a variety of creativity as well as exploring ways to come up with design ideas for products. It is a very clever way to design, create and sell the product!

Below is the making of this advert;
